When You Know – Don’t Think About It!

Question:  What do you know you should be doing, and you’re not?  Take a few seconds…..

Chances are, your brain probably just rattled off a list of things without hesitation.  Lose a few pounds, go through the pile of mail, make that phone call, file your taxes (not April 15th by the way http://onforb.es/HjUtdH)….

Now ask yourself, how long have I been thinking about this?  How many times have my thoughts been diverted to this particular item on my to-do list?  And, what did it feel like? Did you have a sense of  joyous anticipation, or was it more the feeling of impending doom? Now, we’re not talking about the things that you are still undecided about.  Take your time, and act when you are sure.  We’re talking about those actions, that in your gut, you know you need to do.

Many times, the amount of energy we expend thinking about the dread or rather yet, the imagined dread of what lies ahead, is much greater than the energy required to actually complete the task.  So why don’t you give yourself a break, and stop thinking about it.  Try diving in – it may be less painful than you’ve been imagining, and imagining, and…..
