Embrace You Now

(excerpt from Embrace It Now)

You make pretend
That you don’t know
The crevices of your heart.
How can a mother tell her child
She recognizes not
The story of his birth,
The memory of life
Surrounding his blessed
A novelty to none
Who listen still
To all that surrounds –
How can a crippled
Man forget
The meaning of his legs
For surely everyday he
The lesson of the grave.
You speak of knowing not
The rumblings of your soul
Yet still if you
Allowed to be
You would remember all…
