Whenever we experience feelings of unease, we can be sure that we are trying to tell ourselves something about the state of our connection with our true self. Feeling stuck may be a clue that a particular disconnect is one that runs deeply and has been present for an extended period of time.
You see, there are two of you. There is the you that has titles and descriptions. Tall, funny, mother, accountant, son, friend, overweight, dependable; you get the picture. This is your ego. It is a conglomeration of your perceptions and interpretations of yourself and the world around you. This you is changeable. The instant you change a belief, you are different. Give up a role, and you no longer are the same.
Then there is the real you. This you is eternal and lives in the silence. It is the you that is only love. It is not governed by earthly rules made up by man/woman; it is of divine order and operates only to love.
Our only task really, is to live from the perspective in which our ego self is in full alignment with our true self; the greater the divide between the two, the greater the sense of unease that we experience in our lives.
Regardless of the circumstances around us, if we experience peace and joy, we can be certain that we are living who we really are. There is a knowing that we are being true to ourselves. If however, the opposite is true, then it would be in our best interest to pay attention. The good news is that when we are not living in alignment with who we really are, we will let ourselves know. We feel unhappy, unfulfilled. We lack passion, joy, and definitely laugh less than we would otherwise. If this is the case for you, then it may be time to start doing a little honest digging to find out how you may not be honoring your true self.
If you are feeling stuck, think of it as a signal by the real you letting you know that in this particular area, you are out of alignment with your highest self. There is room waiting to be filled up with love. To start making a change, begin by listening compassionately for the voice that is honest. It will let you know how to get back on the road to you.
