The pop of the champagne bottle and of the sound of the noise makers may have sparked a desire to embrace a New Year’s resolution. It’s only natural; every ending opens the door for a new beginning, so as you said farewell to the old year, an innate desire to create and start something new was likely to follow. Now the question is how are you going to go about it?
May I suggest you start off with an intention. An intention is a wholehearted statement of desire that unequivocally says, “This is what I will manifest.” When we are truly able to align ourselves with the power of intention, we will be amazed by the seeming magic that appears in our lives.
An intention is not a wish. A wish sounds something like, it would be nice if (your desire here). Or, if only things were different, then maybe I would want X. A wish is like throwing flour and water into the air and hoping it will drop back down as a toasty loaf of bread. Not likely to happen.
An intention on the other hand has the power of creation behind it. It is a call out to the universe that says: I’m ready. Send in the troops, and let’s make this happen!
To set your intention:
1. Clearly and specifically state with absolute certainty what it is you want to manifest. You can simply think it or write it down, but make sure it is positively stated in the present tense. Ex: I move into a beautiful new house that I can easily afford by the end of this year.
2. Release your intention in faith. Have an attitude of knowing that you’ve set the ball in motion and that the fruits of your intention are on the way. It may feel a bit odd; it is not the way most of us are taught to think. Here is where a little faith comes in, and the more you practice, the easier it gets.
3. Watch for the magic. Here is the fun part. Pay attention to synchronicities and “coincidences.” Your intention will be in action bringing you the resources you need. Just remember that opportunities will be presented, but it is up to you to take action in making your goals come to life.
You are constantly directing the course of your life based in part on the conscious and unconscious intentions you set for yourself. The ride is a lot sweeter when you join in the fun of making it happen.
